Mon, May 15: Uleytokpo, Ladakh, India

We slept in past breakfast time, but Tara had breakfast sent to our rooms.  Mary had caught a cold just before we flew to Leh, so she rested and napped.  Paul worked a little on photos.
We have a very pretty little bungalow overlooking the Indus.

We are near the main road and passing trucks would sometimes blow their horns…instead of a blast, many of them have a short musical tune that they play.

After lunch, Tara and Paul took a walk down to the river.

We encountered some carved rocks

And a yin and yang symbol made of rocks around a tree.

We walked to the river’s edge.  The water was very cold.

The walk back up took considerable longer than the walk down, as we stopped to rest a couple of times.

The hot water in the rooms is heated by solar.
